"Vale residents are being encouraged to try something new this summer by joining in the fun at Abingdon’s Watersports Open Day.

People of all ages and abilities will get the chance to try out a whole host of water related activities on 11 July thanks to the Vale of White Horse District Council, Kingfisher Canoe Club, Pathfinder Youth Canoe Club, Abbey Sailing Club and Abingdon Rowing Club.

Anyone visiting the Watersports Open Day will get the chance to have a go at kayaking, rowing and sailing for free, as well as having the opportunity to take part in competitions, watch rowing demonstrations and tuck into a tasty BBQ.

If you would like to try your hand at a new Watersport, or simply just fancy spending a bit of time in the sun watching the demonstrations, then why not pop down to the Abingdon Watersports Open Day at Wilsham Road, Abingdon, between 10am and 3pm on 11 July.  Everyone is welcome."

Volunteers Required. On water sessions. We need instructors to take folk out on the water, both volunteers for taking open boats sessions out as well as kayak sessions. The KCC is also going to man the reception desk for folk to sign temporary club membership forms (so volunteers for this as well please). The more KCC folk that come the easier it will be as we can swap around.

Ahead of time we are also looking for volunteers to help clear the site and cut the grass the w/e before. Any volunteers from the club who can help should let Louise know.
