KCC Update 22nd June 2010

Tryweryn North Wales July 3rd 4th – This is a trip for a small number of Pathfinders. KCC members or others however are welcome and in particular I need a commitment from someone who would be prepared to take two PYCC members in their car. Provisional plan outline is to leave Sat morning get a run in on the lower and probably upper on the Saturday afternoon. Camp and barbeque hopefully. Sunday Upper, Lower, Upper depending on group make up and timings.

2 Star Training – Lucille is looking to get in some 2* coaching practice. If anybody is not able to make the 2* course Louise is running this year she is available to help and will not be making any charge. Contact Lucille Savin for more info.

2 Star Assessment – Sunday 27th June. Assessor Paul Moore – Meet 9.30 at KCC hut. Should take about 4 hours. Please bring along a drink and snack for lunch. If you could read the BCU notes for 2 star before hand you will know what is expected of you. Louise Royle will be around on Wednesday nights to provide training towards this, so do come along and join in. Please let her know in advance if you wish to take this assessment.

Trasher Articles Needed – The next edition of the Trasher is out soon so if you have anything that you would like included then please send it to Guy at kcc.trasher@gmail.com as soon as possible. All articles, pictures, diary dates or news item will be gratefully received.

Wednesday Evening Paddling – Spring is here and with the increased daylight in the evening formal evening paddling sessions has started up again. If you want to come out for a paddle then come along to the club hut for 6:00PM. As in previous years we will be running a rota for hut duty, if you’re willing to come along and make sure that the hut is opened up please let me know at kcc.secretary@gmail.com. These duties consist of:

  • Opening the hut.
  • Recording details of non-members on temporary membership forms
  • Recording details of who borrows kit and ensure it is returned.
  • Collecting money from those who borrow kit.

If you have volunteered already you should have recieved an email reminder, please let me know if you haven’t. We will also be running taster sessions for newcomers on the last Wednesday of the month over the summer. If you would like to help with these then please let me know.

Aunt Sally Evening – the annual KCC Aunt Sally evening is pencilled in for the 9th July at the Fox Inn, Steventon. More details to follow.
