Please read all the thread as there is quite a lot…
Dave Hodgkinson is organising the annual KCC Triathlon on the 23rd September, from 11am at the hut. Let’s forgot about swimming, we are kayakers. Come and try yourself to a combo of kayak, bike and run, all for charity and good fun. It will be followed by a Bring your own BBQ.
Come and have fun for the good cause.
For donations see below
The Triathlon is arranged in memory of a former club member Todd Morris. It’s a great opportunity to have fun and raise some money for McMillan Cancer Support. This year, I am using JustTextGiving to collect the donations. This way, Vodafone will kindly double the amount raised. It’s really easy to do – simply send a text to 70070 with the text: MRWA72 £5 (or any other amount you want to donate). Text messages are free to send on all networks.
Otherwise, donations can be made here:
but these donations won’t be doubled by Vodafone
Tony’s Annual Dart Trip
It is back. Reserve your week end of the 12-14th October for a (wet?!) Dart week end.
For those who have never been, the Dart is a lovely river catering from some hard section down to the mellow white water adapted to beginners. We are staying in Caravans in a campsite a short drive from the river.
The form for booking need to be sent by post to Tony alongside money (I believe about £21 for the week end, including Bfast). Form are in the Mini Trasher which is on the website in the download section.
Guy’s Annual February Wales trip – though organised by Vicky… don’t ask
Vicky is organising a Mid Wales trip on the week of 16-18th November. We are staying in Three Cocks in a bunk house. Cost is £14 for one night or £24 if you are coming both nights.
If you are interested, please let Vicky Rolls know as she will need to book the spaces. Contact details are in the membership form in the download section.
As usual, the mid-term holidays in October will see Fred’s Scotland trip being organised. For those who want some good white water, and can take the week off work, let Fred know. Accommodation in Chalets. Contact Fred Wondre for more information.
These are back. Starting on the 4th October for KCC, they run from pm at the Convent school Swimming Pool. You can take your own boat, but it will need to be clean properly. You can come and practice roll, support stroke etc… or learn. Dates are now in the KCC calendar and on the website page.
The AGM Will be taking place towards the beginning of November (no date specified yet). However, if you are interested in taking a more active role in the club, have a think about it, and mention it during the AGM. Equally, we have a series of trophies which go around, Best Beginners, Best Improvers, Trash of the Year and Outstanding contributions.
If you would like to nominate someone, please let Simon Knox know.
PYCC Annual Evening
Pathfinders are doing their annual presentation on Monday 24th September at the Sailing club (next door to the hut). Come along to see what they have been up to this year.
